Wonder about that call? Wonder about that Law (no rules in soccer, all laws!)? What do the hand and flags signals mean, and what the heck is "offside?" Tired of jogging for your health with no particular destination, or just want to contribute to local soccer "calling ’em straight? Now’s the time.
Because of high demand, CVSC is sponsoring a second entry-level grade 8 referee class this year. Take the class and pass the test, and become a USSF (United States Soccer Federation) certified soccer referee. Minimum age is 12 years old by August 1, 2013. Maximum age is "can you run." The classes are 18 hours total and candidates are required to attend ALL sessions. The last class is test night, and if successful, you’ll head home with a referee badge in hand. And no better way than to spend a Saturday with the soccer youth of Castro Valley!
Dates and times for the classes are:

The clinic will be filled by the order of received checks in the mail, using the postmark date, with preference given to CVSC members and member families. Last year (and years before) the class was filled early, so don’t put it off. If your check is received after we have filled the class, we will put you on a waiting list. Checks will not be cashed unless applicants are successfully enrolled. There is a $45 fee to the CNRA/USSF upon passing the certification exam for the annual licensing.
