CVSC wants players to be able to play competitive and recreational soccer in Castro Valley regardless of financial background. With the 2011-12 season we are continuing our financial aid program for Competitive Program players. This program is separate from the CVSC Registration Fee Scholarship Program.
The Club has limited financial aid resources available and may not be able to satisfy all financial aid requests. Financial aid will be awarded for those players and families meeting the following criteria:
- Submit a completed financial aid application (pages 2-4 of this document) into the Club office by the submission deadline for your particular age group. The application will be available on the CVSC website at the beginning of March.
- Financial aid eligibility: to be eligible to receive CVSC Competitive Program financial aid, the requesting family must meet the required family income amount. Those with annual family income that does not exceed 60% of the median family income in Alameda County are eligible for CVSC Competitive Program financial aid. As an example, for 2009 this 60% amount was $53,580. The 2010 amount is pending.
- Commit to being part of the Castro Valley Soccer Club Competitive Program.
- Commit to a minimum of 15 volunteer hours if awarded financial aid. The Club may request additional hours depending on the amount of the financial aid awarded.
- Volunteer work could include but is not limited to field preparation/maintenance, field marshal, tournament volunteer and administrative support.
- As part of the decision-making process, CVSC reserves the right to ask for additional documentation and or information.
If you feel that you meet all of the above criteria, please complete out the financial aid application form and send to the following address:

Decisions regarding financial aid awards will be made by March 25, 2011 for U9 to U14 age groups and May 6, 2011 for U15 to U19 age groups. Applicants will be notified by email. Competitive Program financial aid award amounts will be deducted from your total coach and training fee amounts due.
