On November 14th the Castro Valley United U9 girls went to Sacramento and played four games. The first game was against San Ramon Ambush ending with a tie score of 1 -1. The goalies for this game were Angelina Ferreira and Samantha Allenbach. The one goal was made by Samantha Allenbach with an assist from Jordan Page.
The girls took a break and headed down to the State Capitol, and had a nice tour. They were given a little extra treat when the California Highway Patrol Bicycle Enforcement Team, and one of the CHP bomb sniffing dogs and his handler, told the girls about their jobs at the Capitol.
Then the girls headed back up to Granite Regional Park to play Mission Valley United. The goalies for this game were Angelina and Samantha again. Unfortunately they lost this game 4 – 0.
The girls and their families had a night of fun at a pizza parlor with the team on Saturday. Sunday morning the girls met up with Modesto United. The goalies for this game were Jordan Page and Jordan Adami. Castro Valley won this game 3 - 0. The goals were made by Angelina, and two were made by Jordan Page. Jordan’s goals were made with assists from Jayda, and also from our goalie Jordan Adami.
Castro Valley United then went on to the quarter finals for the Nor Cal State Cup, against the Livermore United Team. The girls won this game 1 – 0, which put them into the semi-finals in Manteca the next weekend. Jordan Page made the one and only goal for this game.
It was a COLD and blustery morning in Manteca on November 21st , when the girls faced off against the Danville Mustang’s at the semi-finals for the Nor Cal State Cup Championship. The goalies for this game were Angelina and Samantha. The girls played hard, Jayda made the one and only goal on a penalty kick. Unfortunately the Mustang’s won the game scoring two goals against our one.
The girls did Castro Valley Soccer Club proud this season. This was the first time CVSC has had their D1 U9 girls make it to the Nor Cal State Cup Semi Finals. It was nice to see how much the team improved as a whole over the course of the season. Coach Hulbert moved the girls around a lot in their positions, but for the most part these are the positions played by each girl: Forwards were Jordan Page, Angelina Ferreira, and Samantha Allenbach, Mids were Ria Panjwani, Jayda Garay, Lisbeth Anton, and Tiffani Cheng, and the Defenders were Audrey Vance, Jordan Adami, Rachel Liu, and Eva Hathcox. The girls were disappointed in not coming home with a trophy, but they should be proud of their accomplishments this season. I know their parents are! GOOD JOB CASTRO VALLEY UNITED UNDER 9, DIVISION 1, GIRLS TEAM!
