CVSC and 24-7 UK Soccer Academy will host weekly "Street Soccer" sessions every Friday night at Stonebrae Elementary School starting on March 25.
Street soccer sessions are a way of allowing players to play and practice without any instruction and advice. It allows them to be creative and try things that they would not normally try in their team practice.
“I learned on the streets. Since the age of five, I practiced all day on a pitch like this five minutes from my house. Look at my left foot. It is so good because I practiced so many hours in the cage. When I was eight, one guy told me: ‘Your shot is rubbish.’ ‘I know,’ I replied. Two months later he came back and said: ‘Man, your shot is amazing.’ ‘I know because I have been here every single day from nine until the evening, practicing.” - Robin Van Persie (Arsenal and Dutch National Team)
Every Friday during Spring, there will be small-sided fields set up at Stonebrae. The 24-7 UK Soccer Academy coaches will be there to sort out teams and supervise, but the players will responsible for rules and score keeping. Most importantly, this will be a great chance for players to be creative and just play.
Street Soccer sessions will start on Friday, March 25th and continue through June 3rd at the following time slots:
Street soccer sessions will continue during the fall session, but will just be once a month during the fall.
This program is free for all CVSC registered competitive players. You do not need to sign up for street soccer; just show up on Fridays at Stonebrae.
