Registration cost for 2012 as follows:

Bumblebees: $100.00 / $135.00 after April 30th May 4th

Grasshoppers:  $175.00 / $210.00 after April 30th May 4th

Recreational U7 - U19: $190.00 / $225.00 after April 30th May 4th

* Please note that the Recreational U7 - U19 registration cost does NOT unclude uniform cost.  Uniforms will be available for purchase at Soccer Pro in Dublin this summer - more details to follow once a Uniform date has been set.

All CVSC player registrations for 2012 will be completed utilizing an On-Line registration process requiring a credit card.  If you do not have a credit card please contact the CVSC Office at 510-537-2902 for alternative registration information.  We are currently having problems processing debit card payments, please do not use debit cards to register your child. 

There will be NO REFUNDS after June 30, 2012.

Tickets are $80 each or 2 for for $140.  Purchase by April 30 and get discounted tickets at $70 each or 2 for $120. There are a limited number of tickets for this event so purchase early and don’t miss out on a great night of fun.

During the try-out sessions, each child was given a unique try-out number and this is how players will be first notified that they have made one of our competitive teams.

• 3/4 days after completion of the try-outs, the numbers for the Premier, Gold, Silver team (1st team "Green") will be posted on the Castro Valley website
• Once the 1st team has been confirmed, we will post numbers of the Gold, Silver, Bronze team (2nd team "Yellow"). We will aim to do this within 7 days of completion of the try-out
• If there are enough players for a 3rd team ("White") within the age group then this will be done once the numbers of the 2nd team have been confirmed. We will aim to do this within 10 days of completion of the try-out
• Once a team has been confirmed then will update on the website to let you know that the team has been filled and no additional alternates will be called up

With some help, Team Breezy put together the Team Breezy Collegiate Soccer Cup featuring a Cal vs. Stanford women’s Spring soccer match to help defray Breezy’s as well as other youth’s medical costs related to cancer treatment.  As part of the game, the surrounding youth soccer clubs were invited to participate in the event.  CVSC was proud to be a part of this great cause and hosted a face painting booth.  Both the Cal and Stanford teams as well as Breezy stopped by the booth to get painted for the game.

CVSC is sponsoring an entry-level grade 8 referee class.  Take the class and pass the test, and become a USSF certified soccer referee.  Minimum age is 12 years old by August 1, 2012.  Maximum age is "can you run."  The classes are 18 hours total and candidates are required to attend ALL sessions.  The last class is test night, and if successful, you’ll head home with a referee badge in hand.  And no better way than to spend a Saturday with the soccer youth of Castro Valley!

The clinic will be filled by the order of received checks in the mail, using the postmark date, with preference given to CVSC members and member families.  Last year (and years before) the class was filled early, so don’t put it off.  If your check is received after we have filled the class, we will put you on a waiting list.  Checks will not be cashed unless applicants are successfully enrolled.  There is a $40 fee to the USSF (United States Soccer Federation) upon passing the certification exam for the annual licensing.

On Friday, January 13, the San Jose Earthquakes and Wells Fargo traveled to Five Canyons Park and presented Castro Valley Soccer Club a $2,000 check on behalf of the Wells Fargo Goals For Education Program. The grant will be used to help purchase new goals for CVSC after vandals caused $10,000 worth of damage to their equipment last year.

While players of the youth soccer club and the TOPS (soccer players with special needs) program looked on, representatives from Wells Fargo, CVSS and the San Jose Earthquakes spoke about the importance of youth soccer. Earthquakes midfielder Anthony Ampaipitakwong closed the ceremony by presenting the check to CVSC and joining the kids in a scrimmage. Afterwards, Ampaipitakwong signed autographs for all the kids and gave them a Wells Fargo gift bag that included a soccer ball.

This was the second Wells Fargo Goals For Education check presentation the Earthquakes and Wells Fargo had completed this week. On Wednesday, January 11, the Quakes joined Wells Fargo at Bret Harte Elementary School in San Francisco to issue America SCORES a $1,500 check for their after-school soccer/poetry program. In total, the Wells Fargo Goals For Education program will issue 16 grants totalling $10,000 to local youth soccer and athletic development programs this year.
